were you smoking something when you were thinking of all this?
first off,
all hail bob-
Today I was wondering about the origin of the Rubber Chicken, and started looking around.......
I've traced it back to 1939-
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">so it's got to go further back then that.............The story begins in 1939. George Loftus saw a need for novelty items and magic tricks in Salt Lake City. So he and his stepson Gene Rose opened a tiny shop on Main Street between First and Second South. Business went well for Gene, which led him to start manufacturing his own line of merchandise. One of his first items was an electric nose cleaner made from a rubber finger and a cord. Shortly thereafter, Loftus Novelty produced and marketed the first rubber chicken made of Latex rubber. The product spread nationally, and Gene bought the rights to the original rubber chicken mold.
the little one room store "Loftus Novelty" is now the giant "Loftus International", btw,
this guy made a fortune selling fake puke, simulated dog doo & rubber chickens~
During all this looking around, I found the origin of the Whoopee Cushion!
& then had to look up (inventor of the joy buzzed) SS Adams
Who else should we know about?
